WALK 2008

The 2008 Walk, held on Monday 26th May 2008, was another success, with sponsorship of £105,000 raised.

The Senior Walk had 988 starters with a record 959 walkers completing the course.  They raised a total of approximately £95,000.

The Junior Walk had 204 starters and raised a total of approximately £10,000.

The money raised was distributed among 116 charities, organisations and projects.

The individuals who raised most money were Karen Sawbridge (senior Walk) and Will Read (Junior Walk).  The most successful team was Team Olivia (walking for the Olivia Morris Fund)

The first walkers home were Andy Rawlings (Senior Walk) and Jonathan Fletcher (Junior Walk), a repeat of their 2007 results.  Vicky Morris and Lucy Dalton shared the honour of 1st lady home in the Senior Walk while Annabel Dalton celebrated her birthday as 1st girl home in the Junior event.

Mark Perry and Janet Dawes were the winners for completing the shortened senior course.

John Hayward was once again the oldest walker to complete the distance.
